Pete Lalish

Peter Lalish has been a student of the guitar for 25 years.  Since 2012, he has been the lead guitarist for the band Lucius, and also served as soundscape artist for Ximena Sariñana and Elizabeth and the Catapult.   He has composed and recorded scores for the films "My Beautiful Stutter”, "Palace of Gold” and created music for the New York Times podcast “The Daily”.

His lessons will focus on working with students at all different levels to build upon a firm base of understanding and implementing theory and technique. With over a decade of teaching experience, the lessons will center attention on the students’ musical interests whether that’s the playing of Charlie Christian, the harmonic ideas of Debussy, the aggression of The Clash or sonic landscapes of Brian Eno.  Lessons can also explore the history of the guitar pedals and amplification, exploring the broad sonic potential of the instrument through it's ability to be amplified and manipulated - with the goal to help the student develop their own voice.
